九龍寨城公園(Kowloon Walled City Park)は香港の九龍城(Kowloon City)地区にある公園です。主に王朝時代の香港や昔この場所にあった九龍城砦(Kowloon Walled City)をモチーフにした公園で、各種建物や庭・資料館、運動場などがあります。

・軍事要塞として: As a fortress
九龍寨城(Kowloon Walled City)は19世紀にこの場所に建てられた軍事要塞で、その名の通り石造りの壁で囲まれていました。城壁は第二次世界大戦時、香港を占領していた日本軍が近隣に空港(旧啓徳空港)を作った際に資材として取り壊されました。
九龍寨城(Kowloon Walled City) used to be a fortress, which was constructed in 19th century. It was surrounded by stone walls. Under WWII age, these walls were demolished by Japan army as the materials of the airport which they constructed nearby. (啓徳空港: Kaitak airport)
・巨大なスラム街として: As huge slums
九龍寨城(Kowloon Walled City)はむしろこちらの意味で有名かもしれません。九龍城(Kowloon City)とも呼ばれましたが、もしかしたら実際に訪れたことのある読者の方もいらっしゃるかもしれませんね(人 •͈ᴗ•͈)

I believe 九龍寨城(Kowloon Walled City) should be more famous as slums than fortress. Some people call it 九龍城(Kowloon City), anyway, some readers may have actually seen or visited it(人 •͈ᴗ•͈)

九龍寨城(Kowloon Walled City)の跡地は第二次世界大戦後、主に中国から流入した移民により急激に人口が増加、当初は狭い域内にバラックが並んでいた住居は継ぎ接ぎで無秩序にどんどん大きくなり、最終的には15階にまで達し、1990年代には世界一の人口密度のスラム街にまで発展しました。
After WWII, the population of this place increased sharply due to the immigrants, mainly from China. The small barracks on this small land grew badly by the chaos patchworks. Finally it reached to 15 floors and world No.1 population density in 1990s.
無秩序な違法増改築のため、内部は迷路のようになり『一度九龍寨城に入ると出られない』とも言われていたそうです。
Due to the chaos patchworks, the inside became like huge maze and it was said 『Once entering 九龍寨城(Kowloon Walled City), nobody can go out』
行政の管理の届かない場所・どの国の主権も及ばない場所(※)として世界的にも有名になりましたが、1984年に香港の1997年中国返還が決まると、香港政府は九龍寨城(Kowloon Walled City)は取り壊すことを決め、1993年から1994年にかけて取り壊されました。
(※)実際には一部の行政サービスや、警察関係による定期的な巡回もあったほか、自警団のような組織もあり、外部よりも安全と言われたこともあったそうです。
九龍寨城(Kowloon Walled City) became world famous as the place where no government services and no sovereignty of any countries work(※).In 1984, UK agreed to return Hong Kong to China in 1997, Hong Kong government decided to demolish 九龍寨城(Kowloon Walled City) and the work completed in 1994.
(※)Actually, some public services were provided. Polices watched around regularly and residents organized self defense, it was sometimes called inside was safer than outside.
取り壊し後は、現在の公園として整備され、住民の憩いの場になっています。また、取り壊しの際に出土した要塞の一部も展示されています。
After its demolition, as current status, a new park was constructed on this place, now it is a relaxing area for nearby residents. And, during park construction, some parts of stone walls were dug out, some of them can be seen at the small museum in the park.

公園はそれほど広くはないですが、8つのテーマに分かれて、昔の王朝時代の香港を模した建物や展示物があります。
This park is not large but it is divided into 8 categories and there are several structures and exhibitions related to each themes.

けっこうな数の蛙と蚊がいるので、特に夜は蚊に注意(゜o゜;夜は長袖着ましょう
↑↑: There also are some ponds and waterfalls. There are quite a lot of frogs and mosquitoes,,, please be careful especially when you visit at night(゜o゜; Wearing long sleeves should be required especially at night.
公園の半分は運動公園にもなっているので、近隣の住民の方々の憩いの場になっていて、観光地というよりは長閑な感じがする公園です。
Half of this park is a kind of grounds and relaxing areas, this park should be comfortable areas more than sightseeing areas.

各テーマにはそれぞれ案内板やパンフレットもあるので、写真撮影だけでなく、パンフレットを手に歴史を感じながら回るのも楽しいと思います。

↑↑: かなり長めに説明した割には、実はスラム街だった頃の痕跡で外にあるのははこの鉄製？銅製？の模型くらいでしょうか(・o・)

■アクセス: Access
アクセスは公式サイトにも案内がある宋皇臺(Sung Wong Toi)駅からのルート(A)と、樂富(Lok Fu)駅からのルート(B)をご案内します。
I’d like to introduce 2 ways, the one is from 宋皇臺(Sung Wong Toi) station, which is describe at official site, the another is (B) from 樂富(Lok Fu) station.
・宋皇臺(Sung Wong Toi)駅から: From 宋皇臺(Sung Wong Toi) station
・樂富(Lok Fu)駅から: From 樂富(Lok Fu) station
(A)か(B)か: (A) or (B)
駅の出口からの距離だと、確実に(A)の方が近いし、まっすぐ歩くだけですが、駅の中で出口まで結構歩くので、距離自体は数分程度しか変わらないような気がします(地図で正門を中心に見た場合、2つの駅(=つまりホーム)との距離はあまり変わらないように思います)
Comparing the distances from the exit, (A) is nearer than that of (B), but (A) also needs to walk in the station, there should be only a few minutes differences, I believe. (Seeing the distance from the center of each station (=platform), they seem to be almost same.)
↑: 宋皇臺(Sung Wong Toi)駅の通路めっちゃ長い(＾∀＾;)
まぁ、これを外で歩かされたら広い車道を迂回したりと絶対地獄なので、こういうMTRの配慮に感謝(≧≦)？
↑: The inside aisles of 宋皇臺(Sung Wong Toi) station are quite long(＾∀＾;)
Considering that it must be a kind hell if we walk there outside, it must requit us detour wide highway, we should appreciate this MTR kindness when 宋皇臺(Sung Wong Toi) station was constructed(≧≦)？
なので、自分のいる場所から行きやすい駅で選べばいいと思います。
So,,, I believe, we can select the way by seeing which station we can reach easier from we are now.
なお、(B)は10分程度外を歩きますが、(A)は出口までは地下道なので、暑い日などは(A)でいいと思います。また、(B)から公園までは最初少し上がった以外は大半は下りなので、帰りで(B)はないと思います。
And,,, (B) needs 10 minutes walks outside but (A) can walk inside to the station exit, if you visit the park on hot day, (A) seems better. And we need go up at first and mostly go down on (B), so we should NOT select (B) on our round way.
バスはバス停が側にいくつかあり、たくさんの路線がありますので、土地勘があり、バスでも来られる方は、公式サイトの路線番号を見てバスで来られるのもありだと思います。
The are some bus stops around and many bus lines as we can see at the official site. If you know Hong Kong well, I recommend you can come by bus.

なお、香港島中環辺りからだと直通は111や113、尖沙咀のスターフェリーからだと1Aなどがありますが、いろいろと寄りながら時間をかけてくるので、急いでいる方には長距離乗車はオススメはしません。
Anyway, for example, the No.111 or 113 from Hong Kong island 中環(Central) area or No.1A from 尖沙咀(Tsim Sha Tsui) Star ferry pier but both may take time to go around and via several areas, so I do not recommend long ride when you’re in hurry
A: 宋皇臺(Sung Wong Toi)駅から(オフィシャル)
Via 宋皇臺(Sung Wong Toi) station (Officially guided)
宋皇臺(Sung Wong Toi)駅のB3出口を出てまっすぐ行けばすぐに公園に着きます。
(※)このルートは使ったことがないので説明画像はGoogleマップから拝借してます
You can reach to the park just walking straight from 宋皇臺(Sung Wong Toi) station exit B3.
(※) I haven’t tried this way so all of photos are from Google maps.
①MTRは宋皇臺(Sung Wong Toi)駅で降りましょう。
Please get off MTR at 宋皇臺(Sung Wong Toi) station.
②出口はB3出口に向かってください
Please go out the station from Exit B3.
↑: 結構駅中で歩くみたいです。
↑: We need to walk longer in the station…
③出口を出たら、そのまま通りを突き当たりまで行ってください。
Please go along the street in front of you until it’s end.
④突き当たり正面にあるので公園が九龍寨城公園(Kowloon Walled City Park)です。正面に入り口がないので、一度右に向かい入り口を探します。
The park you can see in front of you is 九龍寨城公園(Kowloon Walled City Park), but need to find the gate, please turn right.
⑤1ブロックと少し進んだあたりで、入り口があるので、そこから園内に入りましょう。運動公園側から入るので、奥へ進んでください。
(注意)こちら側から入るとランニングコースなどを通ったり横切ったりすると思いますので、ランニングされている方や自転車などには注意してください。
About 1 block and a little walk you may find a gate, please enter the park through it.
(Attention)If you enter the park from this side you may need to walk on or across some running course, please be careful to the people enjoying running or riding bicycles.
⑥正門とは違いますが、この建物や展示物のあたりにたどり着くと思います。
This side is not main gate site, you may reach to these structures.
B: 樂富(Lok Fu)駅から: From 樂富(Lok Fu) station
樂富(Lok Fu)駅からのルートをご案内します。歩いて10〜15分程度になるかと思います。
I’d like to introduce the way from 樂富(Lok Fu) station. I believe it should be 10 to 15 minutes walk from the station.
リンクを貼っている格仔山が樂富(Lok Fu)駅と九龍寨城公園(Kowloon Walled City Park)との間にあるので、私はこちらを利用したので、一応載せておきますが、格仔山に興味がない場合や、乗換の都合で樂富(Lok Fu)駅の方が便利な場合を除けば(A)のルートでよいと思います(人 •͈ᴗ•͈)
As the 格仔山(Checkerboard Hill) is located between 樂富(Lok Fu) station and 九龍寨城公園(Kowloon Walled City Park), so I used this way but if you are not interested in 格仔山 or the case where 樂富(Lok Fu) is farer than 宋皇臺(Sung Wong Toi) station, you can select (A).
駅からのルート自体は分かりやすいです(人 •͈ᴗ•͈)
The route from 樂富(Lok Fu) station is easy to be found(人 •͈ᴗ•͈)
①MTRは樂富(Lok Fu)駅で降りてください
Please get off MTR at 樂富(Lok Fu) station.
②出口はＡ出口へ向かってください
Please exit station from exit A
③A出口を出たらすぐに右に向って、階段を登り通りに出てください
After you exit from exit A, please turn right and go up the stairs to the street.
④通りに出たら、最初の交差点を左へ
(ここだけ少し登ります)
Please go along with the street until the first traffic light. And turn left and across the street.
(Need to climb a little on this part)
⑤あとは、ほとんどこの通りをまっすぐ行くだけで着きます️
This street can lead to 九龍寨城公園(Kowloon Walled City Park)
⑥5-10分くらいで、角にお寺のある交差点に来れば、横断歩道を渡ればもう公園の入り口です️
After around 5 – 10 minutes walk, you can reach to the traffic light where a temple stands on the corner, the entrance of the park is just across from the light.
⑦横断歩道を渡ったら左へ
Please turn left after you across the traffic light.
⑧(バスで隠れていますが、、、(＾＾;))トイレのある入り口(※)から入りましょう
(It is hidden by a bus,,,(＾＾;)), you can enter the park from the (※)entrance, which toilets can be seen.
(※)正門から入りたい場合は、このまま少し進んだら入れます。
(※)If you want to enter the park through the main gate, you can find it a little walk more.
